It wasn't harmless, it would have been denying the One you love.
They died for what was in their hearts, their love for God, their love
for who He is, their love of the truth of who He is.
A true believer, a real one, would die rather than deny their God.
And they "already had their reward" as it is a heart full, overflowing
with the love of God; cup runneth over. The Lord Jesus Christ is God
and He is the promised land.
Look at Stephen; he stood up for what he already had.
