"Sola scriptura, meaning by scripture alone, is a Christian theological
doctrine held by most Protestant Christian denominations, in particular
the Lutheran and Reformed traditions of Protestantism, that posits the
Bible as the sole infallible source of authority for Christian faith and
practice."

The Bible is NOT the sole infallible source for the authority of God!

The Lord Jesus Christ is the infallible source of the authority of God,
and He is a Person, not 'ink'!!!

Mat_28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is
given unto me in heaven and in earth.

All power, given Him, not "it" (the Bible).

It can't be any clearer!

"The veil of the temple was rent in twain, not to have a book pass
through it so that you could play God."

1Jn 1:1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have
seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of
the Word of life;

1Jn 1:2(For the life was manifested, and we have seenit, and bear witness,
and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was
manifested unto us;)

1Jn 1:3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also
may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and
with his Son Jesus Christ.

1Jn 1:4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

You keep reiterating that, and that is a like D' oh! Statement. Have you a
clue as to why it was torn in two? After all, the Old Covenant has been
available for well over 1500 years. Testifying to salvation, the Son of the

No, you don't get to control God with your mind, your thoughts. Sorry,
Buddy Bible-quoter.

The Holy Spirit is given to men through the Lord Jesus Christ. The
Bible is only about God, it is not Him in Person, in the Spirit.

"The veil of the temple was rent in twain, not to have a book pass

Your doctrines are just a means to try and rule the truth with your
mind, gain power for yourself, in true Pharisee fashion.

That is why you can't answer the question, "What exactly does God want?"
The answer has to be from the heart, not from a religious,
self-righteous, legalistic head of a fallen man whose mind needs renewing.

Oh, shut up. You have been wanking on like this for years! You only
know ABOUT Him by reading your bible, but you don't know Him in Spirit!

And that is a very big problem for your life, Buddy.

Oh, that pure truth is not written in your Bible. Oh well then, down
the drain goes your Sola Scriptura religion!

There is more! :-). With the Lord there is always more, Bubba Religion,
and you do not control God with your doctrines and creeds.

Cheeky bastards!

The Bible's awesome, I like studying it. But
I'm an unbeliever and so don't have Mike's
perspective, but I used to be a christer like
him and so can follow his logic, and he
makes some good arguments.

Sola Scriptura makes you disrespect the
Bible and lie about it so that you can make
yourself believe it matches your church's
doctrine. Matthew 16:18 is a case in point.
We've been over it before.

I'm an unbeliever and so don't have Mike's
perspective, but I used to be a christer like
him and so can follow his logic, and he
makes some good arguments.
Sola Scriptura makes you disrespect the
Bible and lie about it so that you can make
yourself believe it matches your church's
doctrine.
I'll be a monkey's uncle! That's right!! Actually disrespecting
something they hold that they lift up! Amazing deceitfulness!

Thus discounting the Holy Spirit's moving in the process!

I need to meditate further on this. They exalt the bible (ink) as the
Word of God - in effect as Lord - in the process they discount the
ACTUAL Word === >>> OF <<<=== God, the Lord Jesus Christ, in Person, in
the Spirit of Truth, as Lord.

That is because they don't know Him, they only know about Him.

Sheesh, the more I see the more I learn I know nothing! Something to

"Compromise will condemn you."

"There are no sinners in Christ Jesus."

"My sons are born of Me. In them is no darkness at all."

Sola Scriptura makes you disrespect the
Bible and lie about it so that you can make
yourself believe it matches your church's
doctrine. Matthew 16:18 is a case in point.
We've been over it before.
No, we have not been over it. Many accept the RC POV which is in total error.
Jesus Is the rock, not the pebble as Peter was. Christ gave his ekklesia the
keys of the kingdom of heaven so that it will not fade away as Peter did when
he died.

The ekklesia is not religion, it is the Body of Christ. It is the kingdom of
God.

But what you and they do not know, Paradise was not heaven, but a holding
place for the souls of those who will be going there. Jesus did not go to
heaven when he died. He descended deep into Hell and warred with Satan, he
recaptured the keys, he preached to the captives in paradise to set them
free. After he was resurrected then he went to Heaven to see His father and
make atonement for the sins of all mankind who believed upon him. Then he
returned to earth that same day about six hours later and walked with a
couple of his disciples and talked with them on a dirt road. They did not

came out of theirs and walked around the city for around 30 days. While
Christ was on the earth until he left the earth and the disciples saw his

Moreover, as for myself, I also am saying to you, You are Rock, and upon this

shall not overpower it. I shall give to you the keys of the kingdom of
heaven; and whatever you bind on earth, shall have been already bound in

heaven.

Right, he called him Simon Barjona, and then began the next paragraph

that? To immediately change the subject?
Sorry, I hit the wrong key and sent a blank reply.

He honored Simon with the name, you may not realize this but Peter speaks of
the believers in a similar manner.

“Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy
priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus
Christ.” (1Pe 2:5)
I highly recommend that chapter which speaks to the subject we are
discussing. Notice here that Peter included the believer to be of the same
state as he, "Ye also,"

Peter also describes the believer in Jesus Christ to be a co-equal partner
with him in the Lord.

“Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have
obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our
Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the
knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,” (2Pe 1:1-2)

This shows the honor that Peter felt in being a "stone" and similar to a
"Chip off the block" Of Jesus the Massive Rock upon which the eklessia is
built. Read the chapter two and you may see what I am speaking of.

Jesus did not change the subject but spoke of Simon with his name for him, as
if he were then a part of Him, as his part in the 12 disciples of the Lord.

In Heaven the believers will be given a stone, with their name on it. IIRC a
small white stone. So the connotation is one of honor.

copied the above and straightened it out for you. Hopes this helps
you to

Right, he called him Simon Barjona, and then began the next
paragraph

by changing it to Peter, meaning rock. Now why do you suppose he did
“Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have
obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our
Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you
through the
Post by Dr. Who
knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,” (2Pe 1:1-2)
This shows the honor that Peter felt in being a "stone" and similar to a
"Chip off the block" Of Jesus the Massive Rock upon which the
eklessia is
Post by Dr. Who
So the connotation is
one of honor.
Thanks Robert. You willingly take the time to explain these things to
me, and I appreciate it.

As ludicrous as that is, they make the claim
so that the verse doesn't contradict their
religion. Same thing you do with Matthew
16:18.
You haven't a clue what I know of that verse. 😄
Moreover, as for myself, I also am saying to you, You are Rock, and upon this
massive rock I will build my Church. And the councils of the unseen world
shall not overpower it. I shall give to you the keys of the kingdom of
heaven; and whatever you bind on earth, shall have been already bound in
heaven; and whatever you loose on earth, shall have already been loosed in
heaven.
If you were to read that verse in Greek you would know why the proper
translations is like the one above.
This translation of yours is erroneous.

The word in the original Greek is 'Hades' and not 'unseen world.' Also
the word, 'Church' is not there in the original text. Rather it is the
word, 'ekklesia' which definitely does NOT mean, 'Church.' The word
'Church' means a sun circle and is the common term for the Egyptian and
Babylonian temple cults that merged with Mithraism in Rome. The Church
is the cult of Mithras, Dagon, Isis, Horus, and Set. The 'ekklesia' that
Jesus referred to had nothing to do with a Church. Ekklesia is a
legislature within the government. Only a certain very few are called
and chosen to serve in Christ's legislature--certainly not every Tom,
Dick, and Harebrain that claims to feel 'called to the ministry.'

Your screeds are dripping with eisegesis. You should not pretend to know
Koine Greek.

As I said, the verse is a case in point. You ignore its clear meaning
because you hold your religion above the Bible. I'm an unbeliever who
has more respect for the Bible than do most of you christers.
Go back and read the book of Genesis--just the book of Genesis.

As you read the book of Genesis, realize that every event in it is a
prophecy. It is *not* history and the author did not write it as a
primordial history of beginnings. The book of Genesis is a foretelling
of the creation that Jehovah Elohim would begin with Jesus at the cross.
John 1:1 in the original Greek makes this crystal clear.

By this sign you may know how delusional Christians are. None of them,
not one of them, knows, or understands, that the book of Genesis is not
a history lesson, but is rather a future lesson.

If you read Genesis, you can see that everything prophesied in it came
to pass, and continues today.

The book of Genesis is telling us the same story that John's Revelation
tells, written many centuries after Genesis. They use different symbols
and idioms, but tell the same story.

The earth became without form and void and darkness was on the face of
the deep ... and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the deep ...

The word for 'hovered' means stirred up like a storm. It is 'ruach'
referring to a rushing of wind, a symbol of the Spirit.

The deep is the nations. The turbulence is the chaos of nations at war.
Being without form and void means devoid of law and order or in a state
of international chaos:

"So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable,
both small and great beasts. There go the ships: there is that
leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein. These wait all upon
thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season. That thou
givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with
good. Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their
breath, they die, and return to their dust. Thou sendest forth thy
spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth."

The Psalmist understood what the waters of the deep represent in
Genesis. Modern Christians don't understand at all.

These were common idioms in the ancient world and their meanings are
clearly established in the linguistic record. Even today, more than 2700
years later, we refer to the "ship of state" and "a nation on troubled
waters." Even the word, NATION, from the Latin, means the watery womb,
and comes from the Greek ETHNA, meaning a sea or a people or a nation,
and the Greek ETHNA comes from the Hebrew, ETNA, or EDNA, mis-pronounced
in modern Hebrew as EDEN. The 'garden of Eden' in the ancient Hebrew is,
'gannon etna' and means, 'bounded nations.'

Jehovah created nations and set the bounds of their habitation.

"He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come
to an end."

God put the man in ETNA, to tend and keep the garden (a garden of
nations), to preserve law and order.

God the Father views the many nations, tribes, kindreds, and tongues as
a great garden and a sea, with each group of people symbolized as beasts
and great men and mountains, arranged according to his plan. He
generally relates to mankind on the national level, very rarely dealing
directly with a single human, since his plans encompass all of mankind
and the complete salvation of all.

Everyone in the same boat (a nation) has to deal with God according to
their national delusions and national blessings, since the nations have
elevated kings for themselves, they must learn what it means to have
fallible men ruling in place of the infallible rule of God's spirit.

These are lessons that take many generations for the mass to learn. For
a long time mankind acceded to the delusion of the divine right of kings
and aristocracy, and over a long time we could see the oppressive and
murderous fruit of that delusion develop. Now mankind has spent a couple
centuries laboring under the new mass delusion of 'democracy' and we see
its evil fruit developing and ripening. God, being patient, is allowing
mankind's choices and delusional beliefs to play out to their effects
and consequences. Since he intends to conduct man into an eternal life,
he is patiently teaching men to endure their own errors so they will
know what they have when they are raised up to life. What good will it
do to raise everyone from the dead, only for half of them to go chasing
new desires and delusions and fall right back into the pit?

You can't talk to Christians about this because they worship a false
God. I don't blame you for not believing in their false religion and
their fake god. Yet there is a God, he is supernatural, he is
omnipotent, he does know all things. I first knew him by faith. One day
I will know him by sight because my eyes will behold him in a
resurrected body with eyes that can see his form and substance. Every
man will eventually travel this narrow path of death and resurrection,
each in his own time, until all the nations have come out of the iron
furnace of Egypt.

It was necessary for God to consign all men to this state of blindness
so that he could save all of them from themselves, and their own
delusion and weakness, so he would not lose a single soul. That is why
God lets evil happen--so he does not lose a single soul. Every soul is
infinitely precious to him, and he is not willing that any should
perish, even if it means they all must suffer for millions of years, in
the end when all of them are rescued, not one is lost, and every one is
much, much wiser for the experience.

"Wicked" means "weak hearted" and refers to the heart being corrupt from
weakness. God searches the hearts of men and exposes their inner
weakness, for their own benefit. He has no need of man, but man can't
even understand himself without the intervention of Jehovah to show him.
