"You are from beneath; I am from above. You are
of this world; I am not of this world." ~ Jesus
and he always told the truth.
Just before leaving this world, He said that He
would go and prepare places for us. Afterward
He would return to take us to be with Him.
"I go to prepare a place for you.And if I go and
prepare a place for you, I will come again and
receive you unto Myself, that where I am, there
you may be also." ~ John 14:2-3
""Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not
taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in
his kingdom."
Either there are some 2000 year old geezers down here
still waiting -- and waiting and waiting and waiting and ...
or maybe Jesus got stuck in traffic ... or else
it simply has not, did not, and will not, happen.
Sri
The passage you are referring to was *fulfilled* in
the very *next chapter* when Jesus was transfigured.

"Now it came to pass, about eight days after these
sayings, that He took Peter, John, and James and
went up on the mountain to pray. As He prayed,
the appearance of His face was altered, and His
robe became white and glistening. a cloud came
and over shadowed them; and they were fearful as
they entered the cloud. And a voice came out of
the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son. Hear
Him!" ~ from Luke 9

The context of this account gives a representation of
His coming kingdom 'in miniature'.. On the mount
there appeared, with Him also, Moses and Elijah.

Moses represented those who shall come forth from
the grave at the resurrection of the just. Elijah, who
had been translated to heaven without seeing death,
represented those who will be living upon the earth
at His second coming.

Jesus was clothed with the light of heaven, as He
will appear when He shall come "the second time
without sin unto salvation."

For He will come "in the glory of His Father with
the holy angels." ~ Hebrews 9:28; Mark 8:38

So the prophecy you are referring to ~ was fulfilled.

The future kingdom was *represented in miniature*,
Christ the King. Moses represented the risen saints,
and Elijah represented those who will be translated
without dying.

At any rate, the soon coming of Jesus is going to
be the most awesome, glorious event since the
Creation; or even the great Flood that destroyed
the wicked antediluvian world.

At this time our atheist friends are going to be in
really big trouble. In fact, they will be seized with
terror as they cry to the rocks and mountains to
cover them. It says,

"And they cried to the mountains and the rocks,
"Fall on us and hide us from the face of the
one who sits on the throne and from the wrath
of the Lamb. For the great day of their wrath
has come, and who is able to survive?"

“The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but
the tares are the children of the wicked one;” (Mat 13:38, KJV)

“And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should
come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with
observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the
kingdom of God is within you. And he said unto the disciples, The days will
come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye

Andrew, the subject was the Kingdom of God, this is the verse he was speaking
of,...
“And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them
that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the
kingdom of God come with power.” (Mar 9:1, KJV)

A Throne is not a kingdom. When Jesus returns to rule the earth for 1,000
years he will be given the throne of his father David.

He will be sitting on a throne of Judgment at the end of time.

So again I ask you to reconsider, and not the shifting the goal posts, so
that the OP might have a clear picture.

Lastly, is not the believer at the current time part of the Kingdom of God.
