Very many years ago, I was working on some refrigeration equipment on the
second floor of a large supermarket. I have told this story a long time ago
in these NG's as well.
Anywho I was going down a metal staircase, one that the Butchers used to go
to the break room and bathrooms up stairs, and so it was somewhat greasy from
the fat they cut off in the butcher shop part of the market.
I was going down after completing a compressor and motor replacement to check
the Butcher cases where the customers went to buy their custom cuts of all
types of meats, fish, poultry, etc. I was carrying tools and equipment with
me and I was about 1/3 of the way down and my feet went right out from under
me from it being so slippery.
My tools went flying out of ny hands and pouch, as did the equipment, making
a lot of noise, and I hit every step on the way down and ended up at the
bottom with my legs at weird angles under me, Feeling foggy and dazed, my
first thoughts where of my wife and small child and maybe a baby as well, and
the thought at the time that I could not afford to be injured for my families
sake. I was sole source, and the pain was excruciating. Immediately I started
to pray with those thoughts in my head and before I could even get the words
out, I heard Him say, Get up and start walking. I said Huh! Looking to where
the voice came from and saw no one there, and so I asked Him "where too?" He
said, "To those double doors over there, and by the time you get there you
will be healed.", which is where I was headed to in the first place. So I
grabbed my tools and stood up and started walking. Hurting and limping at
first, I started to the doors, and believe me, I was not going to let anyone
stop me on that path.
A few guys and a butcher who heard the commotion, and probably saw what
happened came over as I was walking and asked if I was alright. I may have
grimaced as I said I was find, I'm Ok, and they let me be as I continued on.
The closer I came to the doors, the less it hurt, when I walked through the
doors I was completely whole, no pain, no limp, nothing. It was as if nothing
had happened.
SO I continued my work there for the day and finished the job with everything
working as it should. Got my stuff and left.
Yes, you can bet I was thanking God the whole rest of the day, utterly
amazed.
What Amazed me the most was that he was there and answered my prayer before I
prayed!
I could not figure that out, nor understand it. I don't remember what I asked
him later about that, but boy! Did I ever wonder.
That evening as I prayed and studied the scriptures, the Lord led me to this
scripture,...
“And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and
while they are yet speaking, I will hear.†(Isa 65:24)
You cannot understand what I felt inside when I read that,....WOW! I cannot
even explain all that I felt about that either, 'kept I was whooping and
hollering with Joy inside of me, as I felt the knowing Love of My Lord for
me. Me, just one in the crowd of people on this planet, yet I knew and
understood that he feels that same Love and possibly even more for you in
whatever your need is.
The total reality of that situation was just one of the examples I personally
know of, that God Truly, Truly, Loves us and desires to show himself to each
of us like that or better.
This is why none of the flack that happens here disturbs me Because I know
who I am in Christ Jesus and of His Mercy. Yes, it pains me that some declare
that only they are on the path, etc. Yet their suits belie their position.
One can only pray that their eyes would be opened to see the truth and
receive the Mercy of God.
What God does for one person he is willing to do for all who love him
according to His word. Why he reminded me of this tonight I do not know, but
I hope this is to help someone who needs to read and see that God IS real and
His Word is Truth and Life everlasting.
And yes, the Joy I felt that day, I still feel at this very moment, perhaps
even more as I sit here amazed at the scripture I was reading tonight as I
understand even more of Him.
