Discussion:
Jesus was a nutcase (and why Judas betrayed him)

He signed up with John the Baptist because he agreed with him that
the end would be relatively soon, with the arrival of the Son of Man
from heaven to straighten things out. But that's not why he was a
nutcase, as there were a lot of Jews back then who believed the same.

But after John was thrown into jail, Jesus began his own ministry and
gathered close disciples. And somewhere along the line, the lunatic
got it in his head that he was the Messiah and that when the Son of
Man showed up, he'd crown Jesus king. Now, Jesus never admitted this
publicly because he knew it would be suicide, but he did confide it
in his close disciples.

Just a guess, but Judas no doubt figured out at some point that Jesus
was a fraud and it pissed him off because of the false promises and
because he'd already given up a lot to follow Jesus. So when he got
the chance to earn some money by ratting out Jesus's secret, he did.

How would you choose to be your friend? Jesus or Judas?

--
Jesus is the everlasting Father, Jesus is God, Jesus is the Lord.

Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were
YET sinners, Christ died for us.

Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it
is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

"To seek your own will is to seek your own glory."

"If God is not first in everything He is not first in anything."

"What makes the bible the truth? The resonance of God."

"All men were born sinners. Why? Because all men were born not loving
God with all their heart, soul and mind. An abomination. Therefore,
sin is not what you do, it is what you are."

"Compromise will condemn you."

"There are no sinners in Christ Jesus."

"My sons are born of Me. In them is no darkness at all."

"You can't learn righteousness. Haven't you had enough time already to
know that?"

"The way of truth is the testimony of life."

"I merely speak the truth, what is revealed to me, and the cards fall
where God intends."

"Nothing that is produced is produced without first being faith."

"You can only find proof of God through faith because that is how we all
live, by faith."

"It is not what you do that matters, it is how you treat Me."

"Keep going forward. Forget about the past. Lift up your head, look
ahead."

"You cannot be free with guilt in your heart."

"Priority is everything."

"The truth doesn't need evidence, it is evidence."

"There is no greater possession a man has than his own will, to squander
it or to place it where it truly belongs."

"An atheist is a fool who thinks truth is found in living a lie."

"Saying "prove it" [as a foundation] is merely an ignorant straw man, to
an ignorant straw man."

"Wait, rest, be still, and know."

"No man can wash his own hands!!!"

"I find this in the Christianity religions: 'Nobody's perfect' they say,
and they use that as an excuse not to do what is perfect."

The Atheist: "They don't believe and put their faith in a Creator (the
obvious). So no evidence and proof is to be found!!"

"The world is the way it is because God can't compromise who He is."

"Man is not the centre of being."

"Man is incompatible with the natural world because of his sinful nature."

"And then the Lord said, "I see everything."

"Man has no greater idol than his own will."

"Where is God hiding? He isn't."

"If you don't keep all the scriptures, you can't keep any of them."

"You can't prove anything because everything depends on a person's
willingness to believe."

"Atheists are ultimately trying to be pointlessness, meaninglessness,
and purposelessness in their point, meaning, and purpose."

"The last day of creation will be the last day of time. God is always
full of hope."

"The veil of the temple was rent in twain, not to have a book pass
through it so that you could play God."

"A phylactery does not a heart for God make. Not back then, and not today."

"The Bible cannot baptize. No one was ever saved by reading the Bible.
Mechanical or methodical salvation is just more Pharisee bureaucracy.
Men are saved after their conviction, death sentence, and resurrection
in baptism--the baptism of the Holy Spirit." - Nightbulb

"No one in heaven is better (or higher) than what makes it heaven. Such
is the love of God."

"The definition of an atheist: A man full of bluster and bullshit
pretending he is the meaning of life."

LOL. Certainly not a back stabber like Judas. Yeah, you might wanna
get back at a prick who cheated you. But I wouldn't wanna repay even
my worst ass fucking by causing the bastard who did it to be
crucified.

This atheist scolar of the time and place should have this groundbreaking

Where do you think I get my information? I'm quite familiar with
Ehrman and other Bible scholars. It's you who clearly aren't.

In fact, from Ehrman is where I learned some of the above. If you're
interested in reading and learning for yourself, I'll share the names
of my favorite scholars.

LOL. Just joking -- of course I already know you're not. You haven't
the slightest bit of interest in truth. :-)

I try to read only reputable scholars, as I don't want to be misled.
Bart Ehrman, William Dever, E Sanders, Richard Elliott Friedman,
Israel Finkelstein, Dale Martin.

Hermann Gunkel and Julius Wellhausen, but they're very old and so not
current.

Robert Price is qualified and entertaining, but he openly admits he's
a maverick and often disagrees with the rest. Still worth reading.

Well, you are certainly out to troll the “Christers”.:)

Everything you said is in error according the the Scripture of God, it is

LOL. No, but I'm guessing it's fun. Although not economically
worthwhile.

Yes, I'm a Usenet troll and many of my posts are for the sole purpose
of trolling. However, when I post about Jesus or the Bible, it isn't
to troll, but to educate. And I can often learn a bit myself, for
example, about Mark 1:41, so thank you again for that.

About the post you're replying to, I believe it's spot on, not at all
in error.

Yes, it is in gross error. Look for a list of the three hundred or so
prophecies regarding Jesus and his life on the Net. Download it, and check it
out for yourself. Then look at the RL scenario regarding Jesus and His cousin
John the Baptist.

If we tried to discuss it all on the Usenet, it would be like rewriting the
entire bible and it would take years to cover it all, and even then you’d
likely forget what was established at the beginning of the convo.

Actually, Jesus fulfilled zero OT prophecies. That's just made up
bullshit.
He fulfilled all that he was appointed to do, and in a few years there will
be some major ones that will pick up. Beginning with the resurrection and
snatching away of the Body of Christ, meaning the real “Christers” with
sudden destruction coming upon the earth, The “Day of the Lord”, also
known as the time of "Jacobs Troubles” The completion of the resurrection.
The rebuilding of the temple by the Israelites in that same 7 year period as
well as the destruction of it, then the war of Armageddon, Then His return to
the earth to rule for 1K years, with a new and different temple as described
by Ezekiel and then the final Judgement.

If you like horror stories then you will Love what is just ahead. For a short
time we will see the Glory of God, then suddenly a horror story where over
3/5ths of the population will be destroyed, immense cataclysmic events, major
wars, famines, plagues political upheavals like you have never seen and the
monetary systems of the world collapsing.

And all the offgrid places will be attacked bu the hungry city folk, who will
eat all their veggies, animals and stored food. No peace.
