The OT is full of those not "born again"; a NT doctrine; who pray/worship/
speak to God directly.

Scripture teaches "let God know your needs" directly. We pray "our
father"; and Christ as high priest prays to God on our behalf, even as we
ask of others their prayers on our account. That is in accord fwith "pray
one for another" in scripture.
