You must not have read those books
yourself, there is NO contradictions.
I'm quite familiar with them, Robert, and there are
multiple

In lists of ten would be fine. Thanks
I doubt there are ten.
Okay, first one: where did Mary and Joseph live before

Where in Matthew do you find what you claim?

(To fulfill another nonexistent prophecy.)
Ready for the second contradiction?
I am happy to disappoint you, as Matt 2:11 was near two years

Okay, I can do that. Interesting that you've answered it
previously.
So manger first, then house two years later? Joseph decided to

house in Bethlehem after Jesus was born?
But Matthew doesn't say Joseph returned to Nazareth. He
introduces
Post by Dr. WhoNazareth in 2:23. He makes no mention of it prior to then.
Still, your explanation is plausible, I'll admit.
But this shoots it down. Luke 2:39
And when they had performed all things according to the law of the
Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
"They returned to their own city Nazareth." He had to leave it in
order to
Yes, of course. Luke has Joseph go to Bethlehem for the (ludicrously
fictional) census while Mary was pregnant. Jesus is born there and so
they stay to perform all duties "according to the law of the Lord"
and then they return to Nazareth. He doesn't decide to buy a house in
Bethlehem and stay there for two years.
The census reality is a matter of Roman records. So is the killing of all
male babies under the age of two. IIRC the order also caused one of his boys
under the age of two to be killed, or perhaps relatives close to him. Herod
was well known for that decision, and it was not unusual to have rulers kill
off their relatives so they could not usurp the throne.
If you read those scriptures again you will see that it was because the wise
men where looking for baby Jesus, and they had followed the star to see where
the Baby was, Herod found out and because he was reputed to be a king when he
grew up Herod was all the more interested in the story and after interviewing
them, asked that when they found him to let him know where he was. When he
realized he had been bamboozled by the wise men because they left the area,
under the orders of an angel, the counted back to see what the approximate
time was when they were there and so to ensure he killed the future king he
commanded all males under the age of two to be killed.
Yes, the story must be pieced together but it is all there, and in history
also, in a limited fashion. And Yes, Jesus will rule as king, but for the
last 1K years of life on this planet. His return is not far off, he will
first come in the clouds to pull out all the true believers in him, both dead
and alive. Then a sudden immense calamity occurs and there will be seven
years from that date to the date when he comes to rule the earth. In the
interim over 3/5ths of the earths population will be killed via wars, famines
and natural calamities of immense proportions, but there will be none of the
church people to bug you. Just a couple Jewish prophets and their followers
for the 1st 3.5 years.
