1. Proverbs 6:12-13: "A troublemaker and
a villain, who goes about with a corrupt
mouth, who winks maliciously with his
eye, signals with his feet and motions
with his fingers." (NIV). This passage
describes a person of deceit and
wickedness, highlighting winking as part
of a broader set of deceitful behaviors.
2. Proverbs 10:10: "Whoever winks
maliciously causes grief, and a
chattering fool comes to ruin." (NIV).
This verse suggests that the act of
winking is associated with causing
trouble or grief to others.
3. Proverbs 16:30: "Whoever winks with
their eye is plotting perversity;
whoever purses their lips is bent on
evil." (NIV). Again, here winking is
connected with scheming or plotting evil.
These references in Proverbs reflect a
common theme in wisdom literature that
admonishes against deceptive practices
and encourages integrity and honesty. In
the context of these proverbs, winking
is used metaphorically to represent
slyness and an intention to deceive or
do harm.
In biblical interpretation, especially
within the framework of seeking to
glorify God through understanding His
word, these verses highlight the
importance of straightforward, honest
dealings with others, as opposed to
deceitful manipulation or covert
schemes. The focus is on the heart's
intentions and the call to live in a
manner that reflects godly character and
integrity.

...the veil was rent to show that the spirit of God had departed the temple.
What verse of Scripture states any such
thing?

“And Jesus cried out again with a loud
voice and yielded up his spirit. And
behold, the curtain of the temple was
torn in two, from top to bottom. And the
earth shook, and the rocks were split.”
(Matthew 27:50–51, ESV)

“Therefore, brothers, since we have
confidence to enter the holy places by
the blood of Jesus, by the new and
living way that he opened for us through
the curtain, that is, through his flesh,
and since we have a great priest over
the house of God, let us draw near with
a true heart in full assurance of faith,
with our hearts sprinkled clean from an
evil conscience and our bodies washed
with pure water.” (Hebrews 10:19–22, ESV)

Every indication is the rending of the
veil signifies, by divine providence,
that Christ's atonement has opened the
way for us to enter the holy of hollies.
The application is that we may now draw
near to God in prayer, for help in time
of need (Hebrews 4:16).

As Hodges notes,

God’s presence in the most holy place
and the curtain that once was a barrier
to man is now no longer so. It
symbolized Christ’s body, so the writer
may have had in mind the rending of the
temple curtain at the time of Christ’s
death (Matt. 27:51)(Hodges 804).

None of the makes sense, the veil was rent to show that the spirit of God had
departed the temple.
My contentious fellow, it is not about God going wandering out there, it
is about a man freely be able to go into the presence of God without the
barrier of the law, amongst other things.

One of which, the Lord recently showed me, it also relates to the temple
of a man, as in the spirit of a man and the condemnation on man. Doest
thou know in thy huge understanding about everything of the punishment
that is told of a man having to carry the man he had killed on his back
until he himself is carried into the same death?

Joh_1:29  The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith,
Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

If you can grasp that, good, if not, that's too bad for you. Hopefully
you can't embody, manifest, incarnate the meaning of a word in
disputation in that to try and disguise yourself by muddying the waters.

from the shadows.

As always, a pleasure, Sheriff Dana Asbury.

All that over a simple, the Lord Jesus Christ is a Person, not a book.

It doesn't take rocket science, Robert, the message is very, very, very,
very clear...

"The veil of the temple was rent in twain, not to have a book pass
through it so that you could play God."

"A phylactery does not a heart for God make. Not back then, and not today."

Or, if you like, you do not ascend the hill of the Lord with your head
or through changing worldly word meanings and thy synonym selection power.

Rom 10:10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;

Or as you have been told countless times, theology does not save.
Theology is not the Saviour. Do you see written words on the cross and
written words rise from the dead? Are you ink? No and no and no.

2Co_3:3  Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of
Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of
the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

For goodness sake, find the Lord. No, He is not your thoughts and theology.

Let's do your Robert finale...

Why do you lack understanding?

1Pe_2:11  Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims,
abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul.

:-).

Hey, an added finale, but a non-Robert one. That is interesting, why
would Peter beseech his "dearly beloved" as "strangers and pilgrims???"

Oh, I see, he is speaking to the called, not the chosen.

Called to do what, though? To go from "ink" to relationship in Spirit,
as indeed the veil of the temple was rent in twain, so that man can go
from having to keep the letter of the law that kills to eternal life in
relationship with God.

But you stick to your meanings of words, Robert, and trying to fulfil
what is written in your bible with James.

Look it up, ;)
In the Bible, particularly within the
wisdom literature of the Old Testament,
winking is indeed mentioned in the
context of deceit and malicious intent.
The act of winking in these passages is
portrayed as a non-verbal cue associated
with plotting evil or deceit. Here are
“Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we
might be justified by faith.” (Gal 3:24)
Amen.
A Person, not a book.
"The veil of the temple was rent in twain, not to have a book pass
through it so that you could play God."
"A phylactery does not a heart for God make. Not back then, and not today."
Well, this turned out to be quite a reply!
Post by Robert
None of the makes sense, the veil was rent to show that the spirit of God had
departed the temple.
My contentious fellow, it is not about God going wandering out there, it
is about a man freely be able to go into the presence of God without the
barrier of the law, amongst other things.
Only the redeemed of God have access.

That the day of the Old covenant was over. As to
phylacteries I doubt you have any clue about them or understanding.
No sense in asking then, is there! :-))))))))).
More strife.
You know, basically at least, what I am saying, The Lord Jesus Christ is
a Person, not a book you can control in your hot little mitts, Morphie.

“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds

What law?
Had you not tossed the Word of God, you might have known the answer.
I "toss" nothing of God, Robert Religion, but I do toss something...

The law over Robert Religion nit-picking and splitting hairs over the

The law of Robert Religion. That law.
And just what might that be?

When you cannot explain the meanings of words that you use it only shows
that you do not know anything about what you are saying.
What has your personal injection of meaning in words done for you?
Look at you, a spiritual mess!
It is not about the changing meaning of man's words that count, it is
the meaning of God's Spirit; He never changes.

I wonder why the legalists of the world do that?
What a big mystery.
Then stop being a legalist. your personal doctrines which do not match with
the Word of God are yours alone, and expecting others to be servile to your
unfounded doctrines alone is the height of arrogance. False pride,
Quote and rationale? :-). Look at you, spitting out your judgements
from the shadows.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
Or as you have been told countless times, theology does not save.
Theology is not the Saviour. Do you see written words on the cross and
written words rise from the dead? Are you ink? No and no and no.
I do know what was written on the cross, do you?
Post by Michael Christ
2Co_3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of
Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of
the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
For goodness sake, find the Lord. No, He is not your thoughts and theology.
Let's do your Robert finale...
Why do you lack understanding?
1Pe_2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims,
abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul.
So where is your good works?

Hey, an added finale, but a non-Robert one. That is interesting, why
would Peter beseech his "dearly beloved" as "strangers and pilgrims???"
Oh, I see, he is speaking to the called, not the chosen.
Called to do what, though? To go from "ink" to relationship in Spirit,
as indeed the veil of the temple was rent in twain, so that man can go
from having to keep the letter of the law that kills to eternal life in
relationship with God.
But you stick to your meanings of words, Robert, and trying to fulfil
what is written in your bible with James.
Are you admitting here that your written words are all worthless?

I have never said what you accuse me of, and I saw the errors you made here.

“I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto
thee:” (3Jn 1:13)

Jesus is the everlasting Father, Jesus is God, Jesus is the Lord.

Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were
YET sinners, Christ died for us.

Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it
is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Psalms 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt
are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that
hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

"To seek your own will is to seek your own glory."

"If God is not first in everything He is not first in anything."

"What makes the bible the truth? The resonance of God."

"All men were born sinners. Why? Because all men were born not loving
God with all their heart, soul, and mind. An abomination. Therefore,
sin is not what you do; it is what you are."

"Compromise will condemn you."

"There are no sinners in Christ Jesus."

"My sons are born of Me. In them is no darkness at all."

"You can't learn righteousness. Haven't you had enough time already to
know that?"

"The way of truth is the testimony of life."

"I merely speak the truth, what is revealed to me, and the cards fall
where God intends."

"Nothing that is produced is produced without first being faith."

"You can only find proof of God through faith because that is how we all
live, by faith."

"It is not what you do that matters, it is how you treat Me."

"Keep going forward. Forget about the past. Lift up your head, look
ahead."

"You cannot be free and free indeed with guilt in your heart."

"Priority is everything."

"The truth doesn't need evidence, it is evidence."

"There is no greater possession a man has than his own will, to squander
it or to place it where it truly belongs."

"An atheist is a fool who thinks truth is found in living a lie."

"Saying "prove it" [as a foundation] is merely an ignorant straw man, to
an ignorant straw man."

"Wait, rest, be still, and know."

"No man can wash his own hands!!!"

"I find this in the Christianity religions: 'Nobody's perfect' they say,
and they use that as an excuse not to do what is perfect."

The Atheist: "They don't believe and put their faith in a Creator (the
obvious). So no evidence and proof is to be found!!"

"The world is the way it is because God can't compromise who He is."

"Man is not the centre of being."

"Man is incompatible with the natural world because of his sinful nature."

"And then the Lord said, "I see everything."

"Man has no greater idol than his own will."

"Where is God hiding? He isn't."

"If you don't keep all the scriptures, you can't keep any of them."

"You can't prove anything because everything depends on a person's
willingness to believe."

"Atheists are ultimately trying to be pointlessness, meaninglessness,
and purposelessness in their point, meaning, and purpose."

"The last day of creation will be the last day of time. God is always
full of hope."

"The veil of the temple was rent in twain, not to have a book pass
through it so that you could play God."

"A phylactery does not a heart for God make. Not back then, and not today."

"No one in heaven is better (or higher) than what makes it heaven. Such
is the love of God."

"The definition of an atheist: A man full of bluster and bullshit
pretending he is the meaning of life."

"Free will is not power; it is the choice that I allow; that choice is
still according to my power," says the Lord.

What does a fool do? A fool looks for a "nothing" in a "something" in
order to explain the existence of existence.

"Unless you do all because He is who He is, all your religion is in vain."

"Every man is subject to God; He judges every man, and He is reality.
What a gift in a fallen world!"

"Love MUST be a choice or it is nothing but a law!"

"Why were all men born sinners? So that God could reveal Himself, so
that we would behold the glory of God, and that we should bring forth
the glory of God"

"God does not and will not arbitrate for any man to love Him! If God
isn't everything to you, He is nothing to you where the rubber meets the
road."

"It is the unforgivable sin not to love God with all your heart, soul,
and mind, because what do you have that is lasting? It is not so much
being punished, it is what you are left with."

"Love isn't worth anything without first a free will choice for God to
birth it in a man."

"The point of salvation: desperation. Anything less than that is
self-righteousness."

"A sinner is not a believer in God, a sinner is a believer in sin."

"A piece of dirt is not the promised land; that is only a reflection.
The promised land is knowing Me, says the Lord."

"It is all about God or it is all about idolatry."

"The Lord Jesus is coming soon. He has always come soon."

"There is no revolving door of self-worship in a son of God's life!"

"There is no such thing as random!"

"You can't truly love without it being with all your heart."
