They search the scriptures for salvation, but they won't find it there.
Why?
God does not want to be studied. He is a Person, He wants a
relationship in which He is loved.
It even says it clearly in their bible...
Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal
life: and they are they which testify of me.
Joh 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
See the distinction? That which testifies of Him is not the answer, you
must come to Him in Person.
Is it any wonder I keep saying, put your phylactery down and go and find
the Lord in your daily life.
But I might as well be saying "Yabba dabba doo" to these bible-banging
religionists aplenty.
They want the glory of the written word for themselves, but they don't
want union with Whom the scriptures speak. There is no glory they can
take for themselves in that, because it is all about Him!
