Post by Michael McLeanThat is a nonsense question that atheist geniuses ask in order to try
and out-think God and sound intelligent. Yeah, right!!!
If I am not "James", but "JW James", then what should I call you,
"Catholic Michael" or what?
Post by Michael McLeanPost by z***@windstream.netThey create that question to refute the statement by religious folk
that "God can do anything." Shockingly to many, actually He can't. For
-- New King James
Titus 1:2 in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised
before time began,
Oh be quiet, you never do anything but parrot what you don't know or
understand.
It does not mean He cannot, it means He will not.
Your comment has some merit, since some translations say "who does not
lie" (NAB), and "who never lies" (RSV).
"Strong's Ref. # 893
Romanized apseudes
Pronounced aps-yoo-dace'
KJV--that cannot lie."
Anyone would think the Greeks were perfect the way your "theologians" of
Christendom go on.
There is one greater than the Greeks, Buddy!
Post by z***@windstream.netThus the Greek word there is "apseudes".
"NAS Exhaustive Concordance
Word Origin
from alpha (as a neg. prefix) and pseudés
Definition
free from falsehood
NASB Translation
who cannot lie (1)."
Thus it looks like one could say ""who never lies", and be within the
definition.
I have a question then. Why do many translations say "cannot" instead
of the other definitions? Is there something about that Greek word
KJV, NKJV, ASV, NASV, Darby, Webster, NLT, ISV, AMPC, BRG, CSB, EHV,
GNV, HCSB, ISV, Phillips, JUB, AKJV, MEV, NABR, NASB1995, NCV, NLV,
NMB, RGT, TLV, WEB.
You have to know God, and man's translations are not Him. Why do you
need so many translations? Does that indeed register?
Most of those translations have Greek scholars for translating. By
looking at them all, we sometimes can get a 'flavor' of a particular
Greek word. Yet it is true they could all be wrong.
-- New King James
Hebrews 6:18 that by two immutable things, in which it is IMPOSSIBLE
FOR GOD TO LIE, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for
refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. [ALL CAPS MINE]
Post by Michael McLeanSinners "cannot" define (own) God in their own paradigms and
definitions. "Human language, with its faults, is not God's language"
[quote Mark Earnest].
It is not "cannot," it means He will not, but He can if there is a
greater good, because then a "lie" becomes a "good (a higher truth),"
which says all the more about God's perfect character.
So, if God does it, it cannot be something bad?
That's right. I told you, you have to know God, all you have is your
perceptions of God that you extract according to your own understanding
of the Bible.
Post by z***@windstream.netLooks like we are
getting philosophical here. But it does appear that would be true; if
God does it, it is good.
Of course it is!!! If you know God, no matter what happens, it is good.
He is God and there is none other, and He is good.
You can call it philosophy if you like; I call it knowing Him.
Post by z***@windstream.netBut when it comes to lying, that is what upset God's universe so to
speak.
God's universe is not upset, it is perfect and in order according to His
perfect will. Unless, there is another God opposing Him?
You have to know Him.
Post by z***@windstream.netSatan temporarily stopped all of God's plans to have perfect
humans inhabiting a paradise earth. (but that will still happen)
Satan cannot stop God's plans for a millisecond in a trillion years!
God is God, and there is none like Him.
You have to know Him.
Post by z***@windstream.net-- Living Bible
Psalms 89:35 For I have sworn to David (and a holy God can never
lie), that his dynasty will go on forever, and his throne will
continue to the end of time.
-- New Living Translation
Psalms 89:35
I have sworn an oath to David,
You see through a glass darkly only, and so does the "sinner"
translators. You didn't answer the question? "Why do you
need so many translations? Does that indeed register?"
You have to know Him.
He created the lie, and in Him is all truth and all good. God is God.
You have to know Him.
His ways are NOT your ways, His thoughts are NOT your thoughts.
Post by z***@windstream.netPost by Michael McLeanYou are probably not going to understand that because all you will
likely see is a contradiction, but the bottom line is God cannot lie,
but not because He can't, but because He is who He is! Now that is funny
and ironic at the same time! God ***chooses*** to be what He is not! :-).
Again, that says all the more about God's perfect character.
His ways, are not your ways, and are greater than yours and mine, so now
we have arrived, God cannot be what He is not, but not because He can
not, but because He chooses not to be, which, again, should tell you
something not only about the nature of God, but Lord Jesus' choice of
the cross, and who He truly is.
God is under no law; His being is higher than law, and that is love.
Do you believe a lie originated with someone greater than He? There is
such a thing as a higher good under a lie - Rahab the Harlot,
Jonathan's dishonesty toward the king, his father Saul, for the sake of
his love for David, yes, even Rebekah in her love for Jacob, being
examples of many.
Yes, there was some lies said by faithful servants of God, but I
haven't seen where God openly approved of their lies. I don't think
there is such a thing as a 'righteous lie'.
Well, there is, and that makes it a higher truth, and you have been
given examples you can understand.
You have to know Him.
Post by z***@windstream.netThere are ways around lies, such as not saying anything, or like Rahab
could have said something like, "yes, I saw them running but wherever
they are now, maybe you will catch them.
That is still a lie of the heart! He is not blinded by fancy footwork!
He is pure, your ways are not. You have to know Him.
Unfortunately above, that is your self-righteousness seeping out of the
sewer, James.
Post by z***@windstream.netPost by Michael McLeanI wouldn't hesitate for a split-second to hide and lie for a Jewish
family, or for that matter, a JW family, from the Nazi's at my door.
There is something higher than the law, there is loving your neighbour
as thyself.
Loving your neighbour as thyself is not a human law.
You are not getting it.
All God does is perfect, and true, and good, even a lie, even murder,
even adultery, even theft, death, misery, chaos, cancer, and so on.
Everything comes from Him.
You have to know Him.
You should have seen that with your heart above (e.g. with the Nazis)
but you chose head! And you can't know God with the head, it must be
with the heart.
You have to know Him.
Post by z***@windstream.net- New King James
Colossians 3:9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the
old man with his deeds,
-King James
Proverbs 6:16-19 16. These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven
17. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent
blood,
18. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift
in running to mischief,
19. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord
among brethren.
Thus it says God HATES lies. It doesn't say He excuses them if it is
for righteous purposes.
Those standards above are according to His standards, not your sinner
standards, perceptions, paradigm, religious purview, and so on. For
instance, this is a lie from a liar...
Post by z***@windstream.netThere are ways around lies, such as not saying anything, or like Rahab
could have said something like, "yes, I saw them running but wherever
they are now, maybe you will catch them.
...and in your religious world, you take it as truth!
There is no way around a lie!!!
For the record, you have just described a sinner above. But we know,
you appear to think you are a better quality of sinner that believes you
can judge those things in 'white as snow' fashion.
You know not what you are James.
You have to know God, not your Bible humanistic opinions, otherwise you
are a ship on the ocean without a rudder and blown whatever way your
sinner thoughts and ways care to take you.
Post by z***@windstream.netPost by Michael McLeanThe fruit of the Spirit is love. Against such is no law.
Again...
Sinners "cannot" define (own) God in their own paradigms and
definitions. "Human language, with its faults, is not God's language"
[quote Mark Earnest].
Rom_11:36 For OF him, and THROUGH him, and TO him, ARE ALL THINGS: to
whom be glory [and they are ALL glorious] for ever. Amen.
Yes, even death (our death), mayhem (the world the way it is), and
destruction (e.g. Ukraine right now, those recent Thai children families
lives, Tsunamis, the Babylonians, Romans et al.)!
However, you need to repent of this, big time, Buddy...
We ALL need to repent of our sins, since we all sin.
I did. Repentance is only once, if it is wholehearted.
You and your glass darkly Bible interpretations as a sinner are not the
judge of who is what, James. The Lord is judge.
You have to know God to know His ways; be in a relationship. He is not
a Bible, and you cannot know what the light of the Word is saying, in
the moment, if you do not know Him personally in the Spirit of Truth.
Post by z***@windstream.netPost by Michael McLeanPost by z***@windstream.netI justify myself before God. I suggest you do the same.
I don't recollect writing that. That doesn't sound like something I
would write. I'm not even sure what it means.
I don't lie quote.
Perhaps your sinful state blinds you in some way, by some miracle! :-).
In the thread "Will JW James be a man?" on the 10/09/22, 10:48 (Aussie
date and time), at the end of your post.
Post by z***@windstream.netPost by Michael McLeanNo one can justify themselves, because righteousness is of Him, and Him
alone.
If you have a ***genuine*** question, fine, but don't waste my time
(with your own), trying to be righteous!
God wants us to 'try to be righteous',
There you go, you are just redefining what I quoted of you above.
God does want us to 'try to be righteous'. I'll keep that quote so you
can deny that too later! :-).
You can't justify yourself, and trying to be righteous is an
abomination!!! How has it gone for you so far? Isn't it obvious? And
you say what you say because of self-righteousness, pride, and self-worship.
You have to know God, then that won't be a problem.
Post by z***@windstream.netthat means we are trying to
obey His commands (although we fail at times). That is why we so
needed Jesus' ransom sacrifice. With it, we have a chance.
If Jesus' sacrifice was not sufficient, then no one is saved or will
ever be saved.
But just listen to the ineptitude and the salaciousness of your speech!
You are even casting doubt on the works of God!
Post by z***@windstream.netThe righteous are saved with much difficulty. So we must constantly
try to do what is right. And then we can be saved at the end. (Mt
24:13)
All righteousness is OF God, not man.
A sinner trying to be righteous and believing he can justify himself
before the Lord is a filthy and repulsive and vile thing.
You have to know God.
I asked you nicely to stop wasting my time (with your own) trying to be
righteous!
You have to know God; Bible a al any denominational religion is nowhere
near enough.
Every man must come to God, one on one, as a little child believing in
Him without the doctrines of sinners, and without the translation of man.

What a load of bull!
And what has all your bible study done for you but make you a liar??!!
Apparently in your heart.
Post by Michael McLeanYou need to find the God of the Bible...in Person,
Yes, God is a person, and has a personal name, based on the
Teteragrammaton of the Hebrew Aramaic Scriptures (OT).
Some call Him "Yahweh" before translation, and others after
translation and that has been around for many centuries, call him
"Jehovah". Thus JW's can have a very close relationship with Almighty
God being on a name basis.
Post by Michael McLeanin the Spirit, in
your daily life and do everything He says, not ponce around in your own
righteousness telling everyone about your imperfect Bible theories.
JW's don't relate Bible theories like the churches (Trinity, hellfire,
immortal soul, etc) , but relate Bible laws. (one God, wicked complete
destruction, soul that dies)
Post by Michael McLeanThere is enough of those types already floating around in here!
They are all over the place.

Post by z***@windstream.netIn other words, God cannot do things outside of His purely righteous
personality.
As for the rock question, that has an answer also. Look at the wording
carefully. The question is a trick question. It is a paradox. It is
Can God make a heavy rock?
and
Can God lift a heavy rock?
The answer to both of these is yes. But by combining the two and
juggling a few words, we can end up with a paradox that logically
can't exist in the real world. It is a designed contradiction. We are
asking, Can God do something He can't do? (Can God lift up a rock he
can't lift up?)
A correct rewording of it so that it could exist in the real world
Can God lift up any heavy stone He makes? The answer is "Yes".
So don't be fooled by clever anti-God statements that try to draw you
away from God. Research the Bible for yourself, and see if it lives up
to its claims or not. 1 Th 5:21,
"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." (KJV)

Post by Michael McLeanMy God IS the rock (all rock). All things have their being in Him, so it
doesn't matter how much rock there is or how big it is...all rock is
Him...and everything moves and has its being in Him. A rock does not
have "being" outside, or beyond God!
Your kidney moves and has its being in you. Hence, there is no such
thing as a "kidney being" outside or bigger than you. Henceforth and so
forth, fiction is just fiction, and yet atheists do their very best to
turn fiction into fact. Like, everything created itself, evolved
itself, scientifically orgasmically masturbated and massaged itself into
being over a long, long, long time...as if that makes a shred of
difference. Now, don't get me started!
Maybe these atheists have been eating too many kidney beans??!! Is that
why there is a lot of flatulence in what they say??
